Yay! After months of waiting, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” finally returned to TV screens for the eighth season premiere on Sunday, Nov. 8. Although NeNe Leakes won’t be back for her temporary stint on the show until later in the season, the premiere was still chock-full of the drama that everyone’s been waiting for thanks to the remaining ladies. Check out the best moments from last night’s episode after the cut.
1. Cynthia confronts Peter about the cheating scandal
Things started off this season on an extremely sour note for Cynthia and Peter as cameras rolled when Cynthia confronted Peter about the infamous viral video that showed him inappropriately touching another woman at one of his bars. Cynthia is stone cold to Peter and explains that the video is embarrassing, hurtful and damaging to not only their marriage, but her reputation on the cast. Peter tries to back out of the conversation and deny that the video is as bad as people are saying it is, but Cynthia is unconvinced and argues that he’d be even more furious with her if the shoe was on the other foot. Later on, when Cynthia chats with her sister, Mallory, about the video, Cynthia reveals that she’s extremely hurt and that she no longer finds Peter physically attractive. Clearly their marriage is falling apart.
2. Kenya confronts Peter about the cheating scandal
Cynthia throws a launch party for her new line of sunglasses and, like with any other event on “RHOA,” things take a turn for the worset when Peter shows up and says hello to Kenya. Kenya is furious that Peter embarrassed Cynthia, and Peter makes matters worse when he jokes that he was just with the woman he caressed in the infamous video. Kenya and Peter end up getting into a heated argument in front of the entire party and Marlo Hampton, who is now back on the show, is forced to break it up before they ruin the event. However, both she and Kenya think that Peter is acting like a reckless and guilty husband.
3. Kenya shades Chateau Sheree
Sheree makes her grand series return in the debut episode and she shows up to Cynthia’s party to show her support. However, when she gets in front of the cast, Kenya immediately brings up the fact that she bought a house, dubbed Moore Manor, down the street from the infamous Chateau Sheree. She also claims that her new neighbors have told her that Chateau Sheree is an eye sore and is bringing down the property value of the neighborhood. Sheree immediately fires back that Kenya has no idea what she’s talking about and that Moore Manor likely has mold. The two ladies then end up yelling at each other and force the other ladies to jump in as Sheree moves toward Kenya and nearly throws her drink on her. It looks like the old Sheree is back and the old Kenya never left. Expect these two to continue to butt heads and also expect the ladies to continue to bring the drama.
