Joe Jackson’s condition appears to be worse than first reported.
Earlier on Monday, news broke that the Jackson family patriarch had suffered a stroke while in Sao Paulo, Brazil, celebrating his 87th birthday on Sunday.
TMZ now reports that the father of the late Michael Jackson also suffered three heart attacks and had to be revived after his heart stopped beating for 10 seconds. The heart attacks reportedly occurred after he was admitted to the hospital for signs of a stroke.
A publicist also tells the site that Joe had a pacemaker installed.
It’s unclear if Joe will be returned to the United States anytime soon for additional treatment and recovery.
Katherine Jackson, Joe’s longtime estranged wife, could not be reached for comment.
