Jonathan Says Alamieyeseigha Made Him Who He Is Today

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has attributed his political success and attainment to the former Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.

Jonathan made this known on Saturday during a special thanksgiving service in his honour at the St. Peters Anglican Church, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The presidential inauguration gala night which took place on Friday night at the Presidential Villa in Abuja was definitely one to remember. During his inaugural speech, President Muhammadu Buhari said Nigerians will not regret giving his administration their mandate. He said the group is a group of small fire causing a big fire. He said the Command and Control center of the Nigerian Army will be in Maiduguri Borno state until Boko Haram is defeated.

Sad tale of Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu who has reportedly been spotted begging at Shoprite in Surulere Lagos.

According to Daily Independent, he was spotted ‘in a Manchester United jersey, blue jean pants and bathroom slippers. Azuzu who suffered stroke some time ago and still limping was practically begging shoppers for money to eat!’

President Jonathan Officially Presents Handover Notes To Muhammadu Buhari

Shortly after the president took Buhari round the seat of power, President Goodluck Jonathan formally presented his hand over notes to president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari inside the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa today 28th May 2015.

Vice President Namadi Sambo also took Vice-President-Elect, Mr Yemi Osinbajo round his wing of the villa.

Gtbank Sends Out Notice To Close At 1pm From Today Due to Diesel Shortage

Gtbank joins in on closing all of its branches at 1pm everyday starting today Monday 25th May 2015 as a result of the scarcity of petroleum products in the country.

Turns out China's richest man upped his bet that shares of his solar company would take a tumble just five days before a massive crash.

Li Hejun increased his short position by 796 million shares in Hanergy Thin Film Solar on May 18, according to a stock exchange filing on May 18.

He also purchased an additional 26.4 million shares at an average of HK$7.28 ($0.94) roughly what the shares were trading at that day.

Governor Godswill Akpabio has charged the newly sworn-in acting Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom state to use his office to ensure the integrity of the judiciary.

Akpabio gave the charge Friday after the swearing-in ceremony of the state acting chief judge, Hon. Justice Stephen Okon and seven permanent secretaries at the Governor's Office, Uyo, remarked, "We urge you to ensure the integrity of the Judiciary. Let the Judiciary not only espouse the idea that justice delayed is justice denied, let them walk the talk so that the public will put more trust in the Judiciary.

The fuel crisis looming Nigeria has caused businesses to suffer due to scarcity of the premium spirit and diesel, hence causing them to shut down temporarily.

Radio stations Beat 99.9 FM as well as Naija FM have shut down services very early today as a result of this.

Making the announcement on social media, the radio stations stated that they will be closing at 8:00PM (Nigerian time)

Beat FM mentioned on air that services will resume on Sunday morning but that Monday could not be guaranteed.

Telecoms company MTN also sent out a message saying above.

U.S Consul-General in Abuja Explains Why Applicants Are Denied US Visas

The Consul-General of the US embassy, William Laidlaw has said during a tour of the US Consular Section by select journalists in Abuja on Thursday, the reasons why some Nigerians are refused US visas. He expressed that contrary to popular opinion, US visa application processes are not as stringent as people think.

Unidentified Gunmen Abduct President Jonathan’s Cousins in Bayelsa

Unknown gunmen on Tuesday abducted two of President Goodluck Jonathan’s maternal cousins named Patience Egbeni and Kate Eni.

According to The Nation, the gunmen stormed Akimpelai, Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State around 8:30 a.m. and seized the women.

Vehicles concerned are Toyota Hilux manufactured between 2003 – 2007, and Toyota Yaris manufactured between 2003 – 2005.

As reported by ThisDay, Toyota Nigeria recalled some models of Hilux and Yaris over faulty airbags.

According to Daily Trust, President Goodluck Jonathan will dissolve his cabinet tomorrow May 20th.

The president would dissolve the cabinet after a valedictory session scheduled to hold inside the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, Wednesday morning, a presidency source mentioned.

The source also confirmed that the Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting would be the last in the administration of President Jonathan.
