Brooke Mueller is setting the record straight.
In the wake of Charlie Sheen‘s announcement Tuesday that he is HIV-positive, a rep for Sheen’s ex-wife Brooke Mueller has issued a statement on her behalf about the health of her family.
“Brooke has been inundated with calls from friends and family. To put their minds at ease, Brooke can confirm that she and the boys are not HIV-positive,” the rep told Page Six in an emailed statement.
Married from 2008-2011, the couple has twin 6-year-old boys who were briefly under the care of Sheen’s previous wife, Denise Richards, while Mueller and Sheen both struggled with drug addiction.
The 50-year-old actor also has two daughters with Richards and a grown daughter from a relationship in the 1980s.
During his interview on NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday morning, Sheen said he found out he was HIV-positive four years ago and informed Mueller of his diagnosis.
