The character that Lupita Nyong’o will be playing in the next Star Wars movie has finally been revealed.
After being a cast member in the soon-to-be legendary Star Wars VII film about a year ago, details are now starting to emerge and Lupita Nyong’o will be playing the role of Maz Kanata. Lupita Nyong’o was featured in Vanity Fair, photographed by Annie Leibovitz, on the high tech set of the film.
According to Star Wars Wookieepedia: Maz Kanata was a female pirate and around thirty years after the Battle of Endor she owned a castle which played host to travelers, smugglers and other riff raffs.
Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18, 2015.
