Jimmy Fallon was hospitalized on June 26 after injuring his hand during a night out in New York City, and according to reports, he even spent time in the ICU.
Jimmy Fallon, 40, was hospitalized in the early hours of June 26, and reportedly got treated in the Intensive Care Unit, according to TMZ. The news comes after the talk show host spent what looked like a fun night out in Manhattan.
On June 25, Jimmy taped his late night talk show, The Tonight Show, before heading out for some fun with friends. According to the site, he dined at Scalinatella on the Upper East Side of New York City, and he seemed to be in great spirits during that time, flashing a huge smile while posing with female fans.
But things took a scary turn at some point after the fun-filled dinner, because he checked into a New York City hospital, with one source alleging that he even got treatment in the ICU! Unfortunately, the hospitalization has caused cancellation of the Tonight Show’s Friday taping, but luckily, things seem to be okay, which Jimmy’s rep confirmed.
“Jimmy Fallon was required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning,” the 40-year-old’s rep told us. “He is expected to make a full recovery.” Still, at such short notice, there was no one to fill in for Friday’s episode of his show.
“Hey guys — unfortunately tonight’s taping has been cancelled due to Jimmy injuring his hand,” the official Twitter for the show wrote. “He’s totally fine but we’ll be airing a repeat.” Phew! We’re so glad Jimmy is okay, but things must have been pretty scary there for a little if he had to have surgery.
