In what was a shocking moment, the judge preceding over Dylann Roof’s bond hearing asked the community to support the accused killer’s family.
“We have nine victims but we also have victims on the other side,” the judge remarked in an opening speech. “There are victims on this young man’s side of the family. No one would have thrown them into the whirlwind of events that they were thrown into.”
Is this judge even serious!! The actual victims killed by Roof should be the sole priority!

Needless to say, the judge’s words didn’t sit well with a lot of people who took to Twitter to offer commentary. Click to see their tweets:
This judge literally spent more time talking about how Roof's family are victims than about THE ACTUAL VICTIMS. https://t.co/ImZIb5D6gq

Newsflash to the judge, but the real victims are the 9 black people who were massacred by a racist terrorist. Not the murderer's family.

Sooooo...is this judge looking for his own reality show or what? That was totally unprofessional & unnecessary. #CharlestonShooting

Seriously, those are remarks from a judge I would expect in a 1950s courtroom--if a white man were (somehow) on trial for killing 9 blacks.
