We’ve revealed the very first ‘selfie taking’ wax figure of the Queen of the craze herself, Kim Kardashian, dressed in one of her all-time favourite gowns, recreated in fine detail by Balmain Paris. Kim’s likeness is portrayed in ultimate selfie pose – arm extended and mobile phone poised to capture that perfect picture.
And in case you were wondering, yes Kim’s camera is a real camera that takes real selfies! More photos and a tweet from Madame Tussauds as you continue.
Kim tweeted a photo of the figure posed in Paris on Twitter and couldn’t contain her excitement:
"OMG how amazing is my @MadameTussaudLondon wax figure!!! It’s perfection! Thank you @BalmainParis & @olivier_rousteing for making my fave dress! I can’t wait until I can fit into the same dress & go take a selfie with my wax figure!!!! So cool you can actually take a selfie with her!!!"
Paris is a fitting backdrop because that is where Kim famously first wore the stunning embellished Balmain dress from their Fabergé egg-inspired fall 2012 collection.
According to Mashable, “the wax figure cost a whopping $230,846 and four months to make and will be joined in just a few weeks’ time by a waxwork of IRL husband Kanye West.”
Madame Tussauds plans on rotating out the Kim Kardashian selfie wax figure’s attire periodically. Kim will reportedly be wearing this particular look through the end of this month before moving on to something new.
