Kate and William Leave Hospital With New Baby Girl and Bring Royal Baby Daughter Home, Hours After Giving Birth


Royal baby watchers, rejoice as they meet the world's newest princess.
Just hours after giving birth to a girl, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is leaving the hospital with husband Prince William, son Prince George, and their newest bundle of royal joy. The royal family will return to their Kensington Palace residence for a couple of days, then will go to their country mansion in Norfolk, eastern England.
The tiny highness was born at 8:34 a.m. local London time, weighing in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces. Her name has not yet been revealed. She is fourth in line to the throne and bears the title Princess of Cambridge.

Kate, 33, gave birth in the Lindo Wing of London's St. Mary's Hospital on Saturday morning, just two and a half hours after William drove her to the hospital. Both mother and baby are "doing well," Kensington Palace said. The baby girl is the second child for the two: George will be 2 in July.

Kate, William and George — who was born at the same hospital as his little sister — went home a day after his birth in 2013. Many women at the time praised Kate for not trying to hide her postpartum baby-bump as she introduced George to eager onlookers.

Palace officials made the announcement on Saturday afternoon, hours after she gave birth to the second royal baby.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 33, welcomed her and William's first daughter and younger sister of Prince George, early that morning. William, 32, later drove home to Kensington Palace, located less than two miles away, to collect their son, then brought him back to St. Mary's Hospital to visit his mother and new sister.
"Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge will be leaving St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington this evening," the royal couple's Twitter page stated on Saturday afternoon local time. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their daughter will travel home to Kensington Palace.
